What’s new in 2010?
In August 2010, twenty Lutheran and Anglican youth will be selected to participate in both Hands On
and
an exciting two-week leadership development program called Ask & Imagine.

Ask & Imagine is a learning experience in a university setting for high school youth. Ask & Imagine has been running every summer since 1999. Since then, over 250 Anglican and Lutheran youth from across Canada have participated.
Ask & Imagine is presented by the Faculty of Theology at Huron University College. You’ll study theology, learn advanced skills for leadership, explore faith and life issues, develop amazing friendships and lead parts of the Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth Gathering – Hands On.

Live in a house with fellow participants and mentors on campus at Huron University College in London, Ontario (10 minutes from downtown London and the Hands On site). The friendships and connections you will make within this group are extraordinary!
Participate in seminars and experiential workshops in areas like Science and Faith, Social Justice, Theatre, Encounter World Religions, How to teach and lead groups, Living in Community, Biblical studies, Integrating faith and life.
You will also participate in local outreach ministries, explore spiritual practices., participate in the High Ropes outdoor adventure challenge course and have small group seminars with the Hands On guest speaker.
In small teams, lead workshops for participants at Hands On, and be there for all the activities of Hands On
Two weeks long – August 12-26, 2010.
You can apply if you are in grades 9-12 in the 2009-2010 school year. This opportunity will also be available for the 2012 youth gathering if you cannot apply in 2010 or are too young.
Cost: $875.00 (payable when you arrive) including Ask & Imagine program, accommodations and meals for the two weeks and registration for Hands On. Additionally, we pay ALL YOUR TRAVEL COSTS, no matter where you come from in Canada.
How to Apply: The application for Ask & Imagine is separate to the registration for Hands On. If you apply for Ask & Imagine, you do so as an individual, NOT as a member of a home team. If you are accepted to the program, you will be notified by May 26th, 2010. Participants in Ask & Imagine, are automatically registered for Hands On and a member of the Ask & Imagine staff will be your equivalent of a Home Team Leader during Hands On.

What if I apply for Ask & Imagine and am not accepted? Can I still go to Hands On?
Yes, but you will need to join a Home Team. We recommend that if you want to be assured of a space at Hands On, register and pay your deposit through a local Home Team Leader from your area. If you are accepted to Ask & Imagine, your deposit will be transferred to your Ask & Imagine fees. If you are an Anglican applicant and you don’t have connection to a Home Team, contact Judy Steers at jsteers@national.anglican.ca and she can put you in touch with your regional/diocesan contact person.
